The figure is based on the legend of the city of Wuxi (China), according to which the turtle was sent by the Dragon King to save people. The statue was presented to Hamilton by a delegation from the twin city of Wuxi in 1998. .The dragon turtle symbolizes longevity, protection and good luck in Chinese culture. |
