Tour du Doyenne to Chalon sur Saone. Built in the fifteenth century, the stair tower at Dean St. Vincent allowed access to the apartments from the cathedral. Having fallen into disrepair, it was demolished in 1906 and sold to a Parisian antique dealer who eventually yield to an Austrian. Then came the war (1940-1945) and the tower is seized as national property before being bought by a rich American (Frank Jay Gould - born in Chalon) that offers the city while funding its reconstruction tip of St. Lawrence Island. A building that will be opened again in 1927.
