This large, historic limestone building has stood since 1844 along the Seneca River and Cayuga Seneca Canal, now the headquarters of the National Women’s Hall of Fame and Center for Great Women museum. The Waterloo Woolen Mills and the Seneca Woolen Mills in Seneca Falls were both started as deliberate attempts by antislavery businessmen to produce textiles that were woolen rather than slave-produced cotton.
