Schrenck`s Bittern scientific name: Ixobrychus eurhythmus is about 33 cm long. It is a medium-sized wading bird. The upper body of the male bird is purple chestnut brown, the top of the head is dark, dark brown chestnut, and the back is purple chestnut. The legs and tail are covered with dark chestnut brown. Tail feathers and flying feathers are dark brown. The lower body is earthy yellow, with a dark longitudinal stripe from the chin through the anterior neck to the center of the chest, light yellowish white on the throat and neck, and dark brown spots on the chest. The iris is yellow, and the mouth, eyes, and base of the mouth are also yellow. The peak of the mouth is dark brown, and the lower tibia, tarsal and tarsal and toes are yellow-green.
