This is an image of the old Brush Mountain Schoolhouse located in Hensley Settlement of the Cumberland Gap National Park. This one room schoolhouse served this community from 1908-1947 when the last of its inhabitants walked off the mountain for good. It had no electricity or running water and this old wood burning stove was the only source of heat in the winter months.
