| Former governor of California, and film and tv actor, Ronald Reagan, makes a dapper as a Republican presidential candidate. He is speaking to an audience at the Chicago Council on Foreign Relations on St. Patrick`s Day, March 17, 1980. Originally a New Deal FDR liberal Democrat, Reagan morphed into a conservative Republican. Reagan went on to win the Republican nomination and won 2 terms as 40th president of the United States. In his latter years Reagan suffered from Alzheimer's Disease. He died in Bel Air, California on July 5, 2004 at the age of 93. |
