| Eurasian Crimson winged Finch. Rhodopechys sanguineus. During the breeding season, it is found on rocky peaks and usually above 1500m. It is found on bare and vegetation-free rocks or gravelly slopes in high mountains, and sometimes in wooded scrub areas with sparse juniper forests. It feeds mainly on seeds of dwarf plants, and also on some invertebrates during the breeding season. It often wanders calmly on bare rocky ground, in snow-covered areas sometimes in desert-like scrubland. |
