| Pugin died in 1852 aged 40. His tomb, designed by his eldest son Edward, is surmounted by an effigy of Augustus Pugin and the base has carved relief figures of Pugin's wife and eight children. Behind the effigy is a tympanum of carved and veined alabaster. |
