Mardin settled on hill of a mountain is one of the oldest cities of north Mesopotamia in southeast of Turkey. Mardin, having a magnificient view, surrounded by quite green gardens down the hill looks as if it is waiting for Mesopotamia. The settled people of the area included Jews, Christians (Armenians, Suryani and Keldani), Moslems and some Åžemsi (worshippers of sun).
