Nebula M20, also known as the Trifid Nebula, is a bright, colorful gas cloud in the constellation Sagittarius. It features distinct red and blue regions with dark lanes separating them, resulting in the trifid appearance. The red area is primarily an emission nebula, where ionized gas glows, while the blue region is a reflection nebula, reflecting starlight. This stellar nursery hosts young, hot stars, contributing to its vivid colors. The surrounding field is densely packed with stars, typical of the Milky Way's central regions.
