| Manderscheid is a historic small town in the Eifel, district Bernkastel - Wittlich. The town has two castle in the valley of river Lieser. Thought the history of settlements can be tracked back to Roman ages, the medieval buildings are the most visible. The two castle Oberburg Manderscheid and Niederburg Manderscheid are ruins, but open to visitors. The Niederburg is located close to the river Lieser, deep below the town on the hill. |
