Ajanta Cave 8 is among the earliest Hinayana Buddhist excavations in the Ajanta complex, Maharashtra, India. It is a simple Vihara (monastic hall) with plain walls, no ornamentation, and a square hall featuring monk cells. The cave was damaged by water seepage over time, and much of its original detail has eroded. However, it holds archaeological significance as an example of early Buddhist monastic life and the evolution of cave architecture in India.
