Da Qaidam Town, located in the northern part of Qinghai Province, China, is under the jurisdiction of the Da Qaidam Administrative Committee of Haixi Prefecture. It is situated on the southwestern slope of the Qaidam Mountains, by the side of the Da Qaidam Lake, covering an area of about 11,000 square kilometers. 'Da Qaidam' means 'large salt marsh,' named after the lake. The area is rich in mineral and tourism resources. The main mineral resources include boron ore, clay, and coal, making it an important production site for boron in China.
