The fifth station of the cross, showing Simon of Cyrene helps Jesus carry the Cross. The image is one of the 14 bronze reliefs on display at the church of Santa Maria ad Martyres, better known as the Pantheon. The graphic reliefs are the work of the sculptor Federico Severino who was born in 1953. The Stations of the Cross are a series of fourteen images illustrating events in the Passion of Christ.
