| The Crocodile tegu (Crocodilurus amazonicus) is a large,secretive,semi-aquatic lizard species.They are found across the Amazon basin and the Orinoco river in South America. The species is capable to run at high speeds if needed. They have been observed raiding turtle nests. This is the only neotropical lizard species of which the diet consists mainly of aquatic prey and fish are an important dietary component. |
