| Pictured is an Altar to Chu VÃÆn An, rector of the imperial academy, in the rear building of the Fifth Courtyard of the Temple of Literature in Hanoi, Vietnam. Chu VÃÆn An was a Confucian, teacher, physician and high-ranking mandarin of the Trần Dynasty in ÃÂại Viá»â¡t. He was born in 1292 and died in 1370. The Imperial Academy was Vietnam`s first national university. |
