| Pictured is a bronze sculpture of Charles Curtis at 820 South Kansas Avenue in Topeka, Kansas. Curtis was Vice President of the United States from 1929 to 1933 with President Herbert Hoover. He was also a United States Representative and Senator from Kansas and served as an attorney in Topeka. Curtis statue was made by Kansas City artist Elizabeth Zeller. Curtis was the first person of significant Native American descent to reach the office of United States vice president. |
