| Rip Taylor right sprinkled fairy dust confetti before he entertained at the Chicago Film Festival on November 11, 1982. The occasion was a salute to a local girl Ann-Margret who made good in Hollywood. She is seated between Taylor and film critic Rex Reed (left). Taylor`s zany antics were on display on television, film, and stage for half a century. As a stand-up comedian, he won the entertainer of the year award in Las Vegas 3 times in the 1970s. He appeared on scores of game shows and hosted a ribald parody of beauty contests called `The $1.98 Beauty Contest` from 1978-1980. The flamboyant comic, with his trademark mustache and wig, died in Los Angeles on October 6, 2019 at the age of 84. |
