Chuhai, or chuhi, is a mix of shochu shÃÂchÃÂ«, which is a Japanese spirit, and sparkling water flavored with lemon. It`s a very simple concoction, but when done expertly, with the right proportions and a great ice cube, it exceeds the sum of its parts. This drink is a refreshing start to a meal, whether it`s Japanese or another kind of food. It`s light and not filling, and most of all the low alcohol makes it easy and enjoyable for everyone.
