Cytisus scoparius, the common broom or Scotch broom is a perennial leguminous shrub native to western and central Europe. It is a plant to fabaceae family and fabales order. When in bloom it gives a cheerful look to the roadsides and huge areas of common lands. However, the prolific growth of this species after timber harvest inhibits reforestation by competing with seedling trees. This specimen was picture in Beira Baixa province, Portugal
