Salies de Béarn is a small town in Aquitaine. It is located between Bayonne and Pau, Pyrénées-Atlantiques, and have arisen due to the salt source in the middle of the city. The salt source was a source of wealth, first by extracting the salt itself and later by building salt thermal baths where the bourgeoisie of France came down. In 1891 the Academy of Health declared the salt suitable for medical use in the Thermal Baths. (WIK)
