The Catinaccio group or Rosengartengruppe is a mountain range in the center-west of the Dolomites, located in the provinces of Bolzano and Trento in Italy. It is bounded by the Val di Tires to the north, the Val d'Ega to the south and the Val di Fassa to the east. Since 2003, the South Tyrolean part has been part of the Sciliar - Catinaccio Natural Park. The Catinaccio group dominates the city of Bolzano. Its characteristic is the pink color it takes on at sunset, an optical phenomenon called alpenglow.
