| RNA nucleotides, also known as ribonucleotides, are the building blocks of RNA (ribonucleic acid) molecules. They are composed of three main components: a ribose sugar molecule, a phosphate group, and a nitrogenous base. There are four types of nitrogenous bases found in RNA nucleotides: adenine (A), guanine (G), cytosine (C), and uracil (U). Adenine and guanine are purine bases, while cytosine and uracil are pyrimidine bases. |
