| The Sacred Mount of Varese is one of the nine sacri monti in the Italian regions of Lombardy and Piedmont which were inscribed on the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites in 2003. The devotional complex is located in Parco del Campo dei Fiori 6 km north of Varese. It consists of fourteen chapels that were constructed between 1604 and 1623 and a bronze statue of pope Paulus VI. It is a place of Marian faith and worship. |
