The Grossglockner High Alpine Road, takes you to the Hohe Tauern National Park of Austria, which leads to the highest mountain in the Austrian Alps, the Grossglockner, elevation 3,798 metres. The road itself has 36 bends at an altitude ascent of 2,504 metres. The road offers a unique world of mountains with blossoming alpine meadows, where sheep and cows graze in serene peace. There are mountain forests, massive cliffs and if you choose to visit the Grossglockner, you will find the Pasterze Glacier eternal ice to the foot of the Grossglockner, the Kaiser-Franz-Josefs-Hohe.
