| Participants of the Kawagoe Festival on one of the floats decorated with paper lanterns and topped by a doll. The festival with a history of more than 360 years is the major event in Koedo ("Little Edo") Kawagoe, Saitama, Japan, attracting huge numbers of spectators. Beautifully decorated and very tall festival floats carrying excuisitely crafted dolls are paraded through town. In the evening musicians on the the floats compete with each other in a musical battle between floats. |
