Jiading Wisteria Park is located on the riverside of Bole Road in the northwestern suburb of Shanghai, China. It was built to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the friendship between Jiading District and Hoki-cho, Okayama Prefecture, Japan, and the fifth anniversary of the establishment of friendly relations. The park was built in September 1997 and opened in May 1999. The opening ceremony was held on April 22, 2000. The Wisteria Garden`s layout not only features the Chinese landscape gardening, but also incorporates some of the Japanese garden styles. There are more than 93 species of fine wisteria in the park, with different varieties, large flowers, bright colors, and purple, red, pink, white, and blue. Spike length is generally 60 to 90 cm, and the longest can exceed 150 cm. n
