The Adirondack Railway Preservation Society is a volunteer-based organization. Together with staff, volunteers have donated approximately 300,000 hours to protect our historic railway and enrich the Adirondack experience for tourists and residents of the region. From early in the 20th century until the early 1940s, the New York Central Railroad operated multiple passenger trains a day through the station, going beyond Adirondack Park to Malone, New York and on to Montreal. From the 1950s and to 1961, daily there was a day train and a night train in each direction to Lake Placid station. In 1965 passenger trains ended, with the closing of passenger traffic on the NYC`s Adirondack Division. A vintage wood phonograph record player victrola style machine is centered in room.
