| Dubrovnik's Old Port, or Stara Luka in Croatian, has always been one of the city's most iconic landmarks throughout its history. During the 15th and 16th centuries, when the Republic of Ragusa held a key position in Mediterranean trade, hundreds of merchant ships docked in its port.At the end of the 20th century, the Old Port was one of the areas of the city that suffered the worst bombardments during the War of Independence. |
