| Rosy red Crabapples growing on a low hanging branch of a Crabapple tree. Leaves are yellow and green with the changing season. Usually these ripen in August and September. An abundance of them on one branch. Small and tart, even sour, they are beautiful. Even though they are tart, you can make jelly from them, or pickle them, and use them in baking breads and puddings. This photo was taken in a Crabapple orchard at a local arboretum. |
