The Battle of Cegra is one of the decisive battles fought in the First Serbian Uprising between the Serbian insurgents and the Turks. The battle took place on May 31, 1809 on the hill ÄŒegar horseshoe, foot near the village of Kamenica near Nis.After this Battle in which the Turks defeated the Serbs, about 16,000 dead Turks and 4,000 dead Serbs lay on Cegra.
