The Basilica and Capitole with the Forum in the foreground in the Archaeological Site of Volubilis, Morocco. The Basilica was the court of law and the seat of the magistrates. The Capitoline Temple was dedicated to the three chief divinities of the Roman state, Jupiter, Juno, and Minerva. The Forum was the gathering spot and now only the pedestals of statues remains. Volubilis is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, listed for being an exceptionally well preserved example of a large Roman colonial town on the fringes of the Empire.
