Banti syndrome is a chronic congestive enlargement of the spleen (splenomegalia) resulting in destruction of the red blood cells by the spleen. The micrograph shows the spleen in a case of Banti syndrome. There are no microscopic signs specific of Banti disease. Only a The venous sinuses can be dilated and the white pulp shows some atrophy and fibrosis
