Magnolia grandiflora, commonly known as the Southern Magnolia or the Bull Bay, is a Magnoliaceae family tree native to the southeastern United States, from the coast of North Carolina to Central Florida, and west of Texas and Oklahoma. It is a large, striking evergreen tree with large dark green leaves, as well as large, white and fragrant flowers. The fruit is an age group of follicles that usually mate as they mature and open up along the abaxial surface. The seeds have a fleshy layer and color that varies from red to orange.
