Centaur is a hybrid of Greek mythology between horse and man. The Centaurs are said to have descended from Ixion, the king of the Lapiths in Thessaly, and a cloud Nephele in Greek, which Hera had given shape to on the advice of Zeus when the drunken Ixion bothered them during a feast of the gods. When Ixion Ã¢â¬ÅproddedÃ¢â¬Â the illusion, he thus created a bastard, the centauros, who later mated with the mares of Magnesia and thus created the centaurs.
