Yair Lapid, an Isreali politician and former journalist and television personality addresses the AIPAC Conference in Washington, DC on March 4, 2012. Lapid founded the Yesh Atid left of center political party and was elected to the Knesset or Parliament. In 2021 he and Naftali Bennett from the right wing formed an unusual coalition government until a deadlock in the Knesset forced Bennett to resign. Lapid , formerly foreign minister, then rose to become prime minister on July 1, 2022. He will remain head of the government until a new government is formed after the next elections are held.
