| The Oravita-Anina railway line is the fifth railway on the territory of Romania, respectively the first mountain railway and many will agree, perhaps the most beautiful. Built during the Austrian Empire, it represents a unique cultural monument in Romania as well as a special technical achievement. It was nicknamed the 'Semmering of Banat', being built only a few years after the famous 'Semmering' railway in Austria. |
