| A Peninsular Desert Bighorn Sheep Ovis canadensis Nelsoni in Tahquitz Canyon in Palm Springs, California. In March of 1998, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service USFWS listed this population segment as an endangered species and a recovery plan was drafted in 2000. |
