Lebowa is a bantustan located in the Transvaal Province in northeastern South Africa. The capital of Bantustan was originally located in Seshego before the new capital city of Lebowakgomo was completed. Lebowa gained self-government status on October 2, 1972 and during its establishment was controlled by Cedric Phatudi. Bantustan was again a part of South Africa in 1994.
