Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) are a type of multipotent adult stem cell found in various tissues throughout the body, including bone marrow, adipose tissue (fat), umbilical cord tissue, and dental pulp. They have the capacity to differentiate into a variety of cell types, including osteoblasts (bone cells), chondrocytes (cartilage cells), and adipocytes (fat cells), among others.
