This is a cull Ayam Cemani rooster. Instead of an all black chicken, like the breed true ayam cemanis, this cockerel is showing light gold color at upper body feather tips. While this is an undesirable trait for a breeding program, it makes for a beautiful bird nonetheless. When breeding Ayam Cemanis, it is imperitive to not let cull reproduce. A breeding program toward the standard of perfection would exclude this specimen, but can be achieved using multiple techniques. This particular free range chicken is part of the battery hens and does a great job for role specifics that help a roaming flock of yard fowl.
